Source of the Sacred Yamuna River
Yamunotri is a sacred Hindu pilgrimage town in the Uttarkashi district, situated at 3,293 metres in the Garhwal Himalayas. The westernmost of the Char Dham sites, it is the source of the Yamuna River and home to the Yamunotri Temple dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, accessible via a scenic trek from Janki Chatti.
